MEDRAD & MOLL EXTEND PARTNERSHIP
DALLAS, TX - Medical device manufacturer Medrad, Inc. and plastics manufacturer Moll Industries, Inc. announced today that the two companies have signed an agreement valued around $65 million extending their established relationship over the next five years. The contract maintains Moll Industries as a preferred supplier of tooling, molded parts and design consultation. Moll will invest around $1 million in expansion at their Seagrove, NC facility adding a fifth 100,000 Class Clean Room to service increased Medrad production.
Already a preferred supplier to Medrad, Moll has been ensuring manufacturability for devices and advising on prospective projects since 2000. Having a full-time engineer on site at Medrad headquarters as Key Account Manager, Moll supplies heightened communication and close collaboration to accomplish Medrad objectives. The two companies work intimately on projects from early involvement in design stages, through production and delivery, using Six Sigma and Lean techniques so both companies realize streamlined production, heightened efficiency, compressed timelines to market and cost-effective solutions. "Moll has definitely fulfilled our expectations and demonstrated why their reputation is one of proven ability and exceptional benefit. Our new agreement represents the next logical step in the continuation of our highly successful partnership," said Peter K. Ochel, Medrad's Executive Director of Procurement.
